BAG HOUSE / BAG FILTER
Filtration or de-dusting occurs in a baghouse or bag filter, with the pulse jet filter being the most common type. This continuous, automatic (optional) suction or pressure-based system efficiently filters dust-laden air using felted non-woven filter media.
Contaminated air or gas enters the filter through the module inlet nozzle, where a specially designed baffle plate ensures uniform distribution and directs heavy particulates into the hopper. The dust-laden air then passes through multiple filter bags, which trap dust on their outer surface while allowing clean air or gas to exit through the module outlet nozzle.
During filtration, dust accumulates on the filter bags, forming a dust cake that reduces their porosity. To maintain airflow and efficiency, a pulse of compressed air is periodically blown through the bags. This reduction in porosity is monitored using a U-tube manometer or a low-pressure DP transmitter.
